Oxford IPLA 2016: The 10th Anniversary Celebration

Liberal Arts: At the Heart of 21st Century Education

Oxford College of Emory University celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the Institute for Pedagogy in the Liberal Arts. With a set of 8 innovative two-day programs spread across the four day institute and with a concurrent two day mini-institute on High Impact Practices and the Co-curricular Experience, the IPLA examines the benefits and the challenges of liberal arts education for the 21st century. Scholars from within Oxford College and other divisions of Emory University are joined by scholars from Elon University, McMaster University, St Edwards University, Agnes Scott College, and the Georgia Board of Regents to form the central program.

Keynote speaker Andrew Delbanco of Columbia University, author of College: What it Was, Is, and Should Be, will offer an analysis and a call for change.
